The FASTCAM NOVA R3-4K and R5-4K combine a proprietary 9.4-megapixel CMOS image sensor with Photron’s high-speed imaging technology to capture rapid events in exceptional spatial detail.
The R3-4K records 4,096 × 2,304 images at 750 frames per second, while the R5-4K reaches 1,250 frames per second at the same full 4K resolution. At UHD resolution, performance increases to 800 fps and 1,440 fps respectively.
Both cameras provide 12-bit monochrome recording, a global electronic shutter as short as 2 microseconds, high light sensitivity, flexible lens support, high-speed networking, and a sealed rugged body.

Fan Stop Function

Move large 4K datasets efficiently
The NOVA R-Series supports fast image transfer through 10-Gigabit Ethernet and optional direct recording to a removable FASTDrive SSD.
PFV software is included for camera control, replay, saving, measurement, and image enhancement. The Photron Device Control SDK supports integration with custom software, MATLAB, and LabVIEW environments.
