FASTCAM NI DAQ Software Option Newsletter
Photron, the world's leading supplier of high speed imaging technology, has added a plug-in to synchronize Photron slow motion cameras with the bestselling M Series integrated BNC Data Acquisition (DAQ) units from National Instruments™. The NI USB-6251 BNC provides eight differential analog channels (16 Single Ended) with an aggregate one million samples per second single channel data rate.
The optional NI USB-6251 BNC plug-in is controlled by the award winning Photron FASTCAM Viewer (PFV) camera control software and enables simultaneous recording and playback of analog data very precisely synchronized with high speed video sequences recorded anywhere from 60 to 1.5 million frames per second (fps), providing users with a detailed account of exactly what occurred and, most importantly, why. A unique and valuable new feature of the FASTCAM NI DAQ Software Option is 'Level Detection Triggering'. Using this feature the system can monitor data acquisition signals from an event and automatically trigger the high speed camera to start or stop recording images when levels exceed user pre-set reference values allowing unpredictable and intermittent events to be reliably captured.
Photron's PFV software continues to expand to meet the ever growing demands of our customers, and the ability to drive the National Instruments™ USB-6251 BNC DAQ follows the addition of support for both Contec and Interface DAQ's, as well as wrappers for both LabVIEW and MATLAB and the introduction of our Photron FASTCAM Analysis (PFA) motion analysis software.
